Orienting Response Definition
Orienting Response — or oriented reflex — stands for immediate response of your organism on the changes in the environment and in science it’s a complex term that includes peoples’ behavior, physiological peculiarities and other reactions. Imagine that you are just sitting and thinking about nothing, when suddenly someone crosses by the street and you focus your vision immediately because you thought they are someone familiar — that’s immediate organism reaction.
Thereby something that you immediately focuses attention on is your orienting response — no matter if it’s a sound or a view or something else — you receive a stimulant and provide response. In terms of UX design you can implement this response when it comes to the chosen design something that attracts users’ attention and requires immediate response.
