Oculometer Definition

Oculometer

Oculometer is used to track and fix eye movements within a special carefully engineered device which contains various complex systems — laser projectors and movement sensors. Being a solution for real-time fixation this device is widely used for eye-tracking in UX design as well as representing a solution for defining where the users are looking what they concentrate on, how they switch their focus between various elements in your web page etc.

Within user research oculometer (as its digital version) can be useful for identifying if your design solution is intuitive for users you can also run various tests to ensure that the presented design provides the best possible user experience, etc. Usability tests conducted within eye-tracking systems allow to define what elements attract customer attention and which elements are ignored.
