Hick’s Law Definition
Hick’s Law, also known as Hick-Hyman Law, stands for psychological principle that defines the statement that the more options are available the more time it takes to make a choice. Thus the less is the number of choices the less time it takes to decide on the best one. It’s crucial for UX designers to determine how to implement navigation system, etc.
The point of hick’s law is to make the appropriate number of choices so that user makes it much more easier and with less efforts. For example when you provide opportunities to log in your system, you can use email, Google account and many other varieties but you have to select the appropriate number of options that are also available for users.
