Grid Systems Definition
Grid Systems is not a typically UX design term since it mostly refers to urban planning and however it terms of design this term is all about framework of horizontal and vertical lines within web page that are used to place images, text and other graphical elements. In a nutshell designers implement this system working with layout structure making navigation easier and more intuitive for users.
Implementing grid systems designers are able to improve readability of a website, control all the elements available like columns, buttons, text etc. There are three possible grids — column modular and hierarchical. Using these systems makes it easier to define spaces between elements and make the overall look more pleasing and the chose of grid systems will be defined by your needs and users expectations.
