Early Prototype Testing Definition

Early Prototype Testing

Early Prototype Testing – is the process of testing an early version of a product or feature with real users. The purpose of prototype testing is to validate the design before development starts and identify problems early on, so you can build a product that meets user needs and expectations. The biggest benefit of testing prototypes is being able to continuously iterate and launch products that accurately serve your user’s needs. However, that’s not the only advantage of this practice.

Key benefits to developing a prototype include spotting elementary flaws in the proposal during development, testing for wrongly inherited user needs, or avoiding resort to cost-efficient fixes in later stages. Testing prototype versions rather early on in the course of the design process recognizes the need to learn fast and cheap with failures to have the greatest outcome.
