Gestalt Principles Definition
Gestalt Principles are used in UX design to organize content on website making it intuitive and visually appealing for users. In a nutshell it’s about our perception and grouping similar shapes and objects, recognizing patterns and similarities. With our gestalt we are parsing out the meaning of various things appearing in front of us for example on a web page when we can observe similar graphic design objects and focus on the ones that differ in color, shape, etc.
This German term was developed in 1920s by three German scientists and since then has been implemented for perceiving various different elements as whole picture and for now it’s widely represented in UX design and interface creation niches being a part of visual design.
