Overview
Poker House is an online gaming website that offers multiple poker variations and online tournaments. Recognizing the need for a modern design and more competitive features, the client approached us with the need for the app redesign and implementation of new capabilities.
The problem was that the old application had many weaknesses. The old game app design was outdated and needed to be revamped to make it more attractive to users. Also, the functionality required updates for the app to keep competing in the market. We challenged ourselves to design a game app with a brand new, forward-looking interface that would embrace new features seamlessly.

Results
After careful observation, we found an extensive array of user experience and visual design issues in the Poker House application. We saw a huge opportunity to design a game app that truly embodied the client's identity while providing a more seamless and compelling user experience.
Information Architecture
A properly designed information architecture results in clear navigation and seamless usability. To design a game app, we started by creating an information architecture that simplified navigation and prioritized game features, which helped us rebuild Poker House in record time.

Reconsidering the structure
During the app redesign, our goal was to keep the classic poker patterns while also implementing new features such as a landscape mode. Our first step was to turn the screen to horizontal orientation.
Simplified registration form
With an effortless registration form, we strip every barrier away from signing up and help increase the number of users with quick submission and a smooth process.
Customization for the user’s needs
Players can challenge their Facebook friends to join. We let them communicate in a built-in chat which helps increase interaction among the users. As to app redesign, we also aimed to help users make selections and set preferences in the game. The ability to pick avatars and set emotions makes it easier for the player to feel inside the game.
New tournaments structure
Searching for standing-out solutions for game app design, we thought about deeper features translating into better UX for the players. Users now have to complete the levels and unlock rewards, and they also can check the free tables and join several tables at once during the tournament. We added a wheel of fortune for players to achieve bonuses.
Website design
We prioritized our initial goal to create brand new, modern, and elegant user experience. After conceptualizing the design, we applied gameplay elements to make the gaming process more inviting and immersive. As for maximizing interactivity, we made a point of animation intended to be both artistically interesting and functional. To ensure users can enjoy the game across different devices, we designed responsive tablet and desktop versions and created a website with its custom CMS.
