Consistency Definition

Consistency

Consistency – is one of the most critical concepts which confirm data is maintained as accurate, valid, and reliable all through the varied operations or transactions which take place within the system. A critically important concept in databases, distributed systems, and concurrent programming environments to ensure data integrity and reliability. This therefore means that in a distributed database system, every replica of data is in synchronization and uniformly updated hence the user is capable of accessing the latest as well as correct information regardless of where it emanates.

Consistency mostly touches the mechanism in their execution, that is, transaction management, concurrency control, and strategies in replicating data. This forms a key role in the checking of the correctness and reliability that should adhere to in any software system, hence according the power to the software system in the checking on the correctness and hence able to achieve what’s due to the user in correctness and reliability.
