Bomb Definition

Bomb

Bomb, also known as a logic bomb, is referring to a part of code that was implemented into the software with intent of maliciously functioning at the time when certain predefined conditions are met. This can be including specific times, dates, or when certain actions are performed.

Bombs are possibly present in other types of hostile software such as viruses and worms and need to reach a couple of requirements to be considered as bombs. For example a bomb has to be unbeknownst and unwanted for the user to happen. There are only a few successful logic bombs that were set off on a national level.
