ANSI Definition
ANSI — an American National Standards Institute was formed in 1918 as a private non-profit organization. The mission behind the American National Standards Institute is characterized to administer the standards that guarantee maximum compliance, optimum level of performance so that the results should remain constant for the best level of compatibility that exist amongst any different sets of programs, applications, and systems. Some of the formalized standards that the organization maintains range from communication protocols, encoding schemes as well as data formats among others.
Additionally, to the above adopted standards and guidelines, ANSI is able to accredit the technological organizations relating to either product certification or personnel certification. Software developers should be in a consensus with ANSI so as to have an ability of being compliant with systems that have been standardized. In addition, ANSI is able to regulate in a wide range of fields in the development of terminologies and definitions for uniformity. It is also a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
