ADC Definition
ADC is an abbreviation of Application Delivery Controller. It refers to a network device whose purpose is managing and optimizing how the server machines of enterprise application, or web application software connect with clients’ machines. The benefits posed by application delivery controllers revolve around the performance and the security that is offered to the applications.
In this regard, ADCs are one of the objectives that can be achieved through load balancing. The digital process means spreading the traffic going into a network programmatically over a number of servers to minimize the consequent risks of demanding one single server. Other functionalities include speeding up an application, and SSL offloading and caching among others.
